Main activity of Hrvatski Telekom d.d. (Croatian Telecom Inc.) and other subsidiary companies is the provision of telecommunications services, design and construction of communications networks on the Croatian territory. The Group also provides fixed telephone line service (access and traffic through fixed telephone lines and additional fixed network), Internet services including IPTV, data transmission services (lease of lines, Metro-Ethernet, IP / MPLS, ATM) and operates GSM and UMTS mobile telephone networks.

Organizational Structure

Hrvatski Telekom's organizational structure is designed to make the Company flexible, efficient, and fully dedicated to customers.

The Company is organized into several functional segments managed by members of the Management Board.

The business unit for residential customers includes residential marketing, brand development and management, customer experience, customer value and sales channels management, Iskon operations, sales in stores and other direct and indirect sales channels, digitalization, and agile units for product development and artificial intelligence.

The business unit for business customers and their customer experience includes business marketing, brand development and management, sales channel management for small and medium business customers and corporate customers, ICT business development, business management, and back-office support.

The human resources and customer support business unit includes business partnering, recruitment, employee satisfaction, strategic human resources planning, human resources services, labor legal relations, customer service management, and user technical support.

The support and management functions include tasks shared by the entire Company. The support and management functions ensure the compliance of all the Company's business segments and enable it to operate as a single unit. These functions achieve synergy of different business segments, coordinate activities, provide guidelines, set standards, and ensure their application for the entire Company. The support and management functions may also include business support and operational provision of services within their competence to affiliated companies of the HT Group.

Technical functions include information and communication technology services at the company level, aiming to provide a technical platform for services and create synergy effects at the internal and external levels.

The strategy of HT is based on the quality of services, customer satisfaction, further development of broadband access, and the development of related innovative value-added services.

The low level of indebtedness, the developed technological infrastructure that enables further development of services, and our own human and professional potentials guarantee further growth and increase of HT's potential. Today, HT justifies the epithet of one of the strongest economic entities in the country. As such, it was and remains one of the key drivers of the development of the Croatian economy.

Fixed telephony and Internet

HT Group provides all telecommunication services related to fixed telephony, Internet, IPTV and international communications.

Mobile networks

HT mobile networks cover more than 98% of Croatian territory. Outside of the home network our users are covered by more than 200 GSM operators in our global roaming network.
We are the market leader - covering 43% of all mobile network users on Croatia.

Data transfer

We have offered various Data Transfer services to business users since 1987, from Metro-Ethernet managed network, IP / MPLS, ATM to leased lines without management.

    Hrvatski Telekom was founded

    Hrvatski Telekom (Croatian Telecom) was founded after a separation of HPT - Hrvatske pošte i telekomunikacija (Croatian Post and Telecommunications) to HP - Hrvatsku poštu d.d. (Croatian Post Inc.) and HT - Hrvatske telekomunikacije d.d. (Croatian Telecommunications)

  • OCTOBER 1999

    Deutsche Telekom AG bought 35% of HT

    In a public tender, Croatian Government accepted the Deutsche Telekom AG offer for 35% of HT shares and paid them 850 million US $. Taking into account the value of the Company according to GDP per capita and the achieved price of shares, this is considered to be one of the most successful privatisations in transition countries. Project was awarded by the renowned magazine "Central European" for the its first phase of HT privatisation.

    Rebalancing the tariff structures

    Preparing for competition in the open market of fixed telephony services, the company rebalanced tariff structures to ensure a competitive service price at European and global markets,

  • OCTOBER 2001

    Deutsche Telekom AG becomes majority shareholder of HT

    Deutsche Telekom AG becomes the majority owner of HT, with 51% share in the ownership structure, with , Croatian Government holding the remaining part.

    A new organizational structure

    HT consists of several functional units. Two main functional structures exist within the HT: corporate units, whose primary task is to generate and preserve the value of the company, and the business units that have direct market responsibility and accountability for profit and loss.

    100% digital

    completed the 100% digitalization of the fixed network.

    Mobile communications unit separated from the company

    HT founded daughter company - HT Mobile Communications Ltd., 100% owned by HT. This company will use all of its resources for further development of mobile communications, to the satisfaction of end users. Separation of mobile communications was done due to requirements of regulators of business transparency for certain HT services.

  • October 1st, 2004

    HT became part of the T family

    HT becomes a part of the global T-brand trademark of Deutsche Telekom, one of the world's leading telecom operators. Branding of the HT was changed, yet it retains a certain national identity. The umbrella brand of the company became T-Hrvatski Telekom, branded as T-Com, company combining fixed network and on-line, and T-Mobile.

  • February 17th, 2005

    Privatization continues

    Croatian Government transferred 7% of HT the Fund for Croatian Homeland War Veterans and their family members in accordance with the Law for Privatization of HT (Narodne Novine No. 65/99 and NN 8/2001).

  • April 1st, 2005

    Second based tariff system

    According to customer requirements and the newly established regulatory environment, T-HT introduces 2 user packages, with a second based billing. Packages were based on the results of user studies and best practices of several international telecommunications companies.

    Adopted new organisational structure

    Management of HT adopted a new organizational structure and scope of activities of organizational units of the Company, creating the organizational prerequisites for further development and growth of a user-oriented company in spite of fierce competition in a fully deregulated telecommunications market.

    Iskon purchased by HT

    After a transaction worth 13.7 million euros HT become the 100% owner of Iskon Internet Inc. Iskon portal was separated into Adriatic Media doo and was not the subject of the takeover. Successful ISP company with 111 employees and a total revenue of 81 million in 2005.

    T-Mobile reaches 2 million users

    T-Mobile has confirmed its leading position in the market by acquiring over two million customers , Showing consistent growth T-Mobile has moved from 1 million to 1 million users in just four years.

  • September 21st, 2006

    MAXtv service is launched

    T-Com is the first within the DT Group to enable use of MAXtv (IPTV service) to all MAXadsl users. MAXtv viewers can watch more than 50 domestic and foreign TV stations, all national and regional televisions in Croatia.

    HT Mobile annexed to HT Mostar

    The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina dr. Ahmet Hadžipašić and CEO of HT Ivica Mudrinić signed an agreement in Mostar annexing HT Mobile, formerly Eronet to HT Mostar. The agreement aligns the mobile communications segment (HT Mobile).

  • DECEMBER 19th, 2006

    MAXadsl reaches 200,000 users

    Since the introduction of services in April 2004 MAXadsl was rapidly growing, acquiring more than 10,000 users in 6 months. After 2 years it has reached 200,000 users, a 100% increase compared to the last year. Growth was the result of favorable prices, continuous increase of quality, expansion of user terminal equipment and better coverage.

    HT trading started

    HT share trading started at 10 AM, preceded by the signing of a listing contract. More than 358000 Croatian citizens purchased the shares traded on the Zagreb Stock Exchange under the symbol HT-RA. Trading of T-HT's GDRs (global depositary receipts) on the London Stock Exchange began at the same time.

    Organizational structure changes

    Changes in the organizational structure of HT were adopted by the management, to ensure organizational prerequisites for further development and growth of the company.

    MAXtv reaches 200,000 users

    With more than 200,000 users of MAXtv IPTV service HT has become the largest distributor of television content in Croatia in just 3 years, mainly due to refreshing new content, TV programs, films and other user centered options.

  • JANUARY 1st, 2010

    T-Com and HT join operations

    The merger of T-Mobile Croatia and HT, with the prior approval of the Supervisory Board of HT, consolidated the operations of T-Com and T-Mobile into a single user-oriented organizational structure.

    Completed the purchase of Combis

    HT has signed a sale and transfer of shares to acquire the entire share capital of Combis, service integration of information technologies, Ltd. (Combis).

    Name changed to Hrvatski Telekom d.d.

    The company name was officially changed from HT - Hrvatske telekomunikacije d.d. to Hrvatski Telekom d.d. (Croatian Telecom Inc.)

    Davor Tomašković assumes the position of President of the Management Board of HT

    At the session held on December 9, 2013, The Supervisory Board of Hrvatski Telekom appointed Davor Tomašković the President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Hrvatski Telekom. He assumed the office on January 1, 2014, for a term of four years.

    HT assumes management of Optima Telekom

    Croatian Competition Agency approved the concentration of HT and Optima Telekom for a period of four years, until July 9, 2018.
