Promotion of the book T-HT NAGRADA @ MSU.HR

25.11.2013

On Friday, 22 November 2013, the book T-HT NAGRADA @ MSU.HR was promoted at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU). The book is the result of a unique, several-year-long cooperation between the cultural and business sectors in the area of visual arts in Croatia.

The long-year practice of the Museum of Contemporary Art and Hrvatski Telekom to award Croatian artists for their contribution to contemporary art holdings has resulted in the publication with the title T-HT NAGRADA @ MSU.HR. Over the six-year period, through five large exhibitions, 170 artists and art groups and about 200 works of art have been showcased within the project. This richly illustrated publication shows the chronology of the idea and its realization, selected and awarded artists and their works of art, as well as biographies of all artists selected in the period from 2007 to 2012 within the T-HT NAGRADA @ MSU.HR competition. The publication also represents an analysis of developments, situations and development of the contemporary scene with the overview of recent works of arts in Croatia. The synergy of cultural institutions and socially responsible companies can produce valuable achievements for the society as a whole, and this publication is a clear proof of it.

The Acting Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Snježana Pintarić and Ivica Mudrinić, President of the Management Board of Hrvatski Telekom, spoke at the promotion of the book. On this occasion, Mr. Mudrinić announced this year’s competition for awarding four prizes for works of arts from the area of contemporary visual art titled: T-HTnagrada@msu.hr.

The competition is open for artists working with media art and new technologies, but artists using traditional media or those whose works of art are the product of synthesis of various forms of expression and techniques are also welcome to join the competition, the prerequisite being that their works were created after 1 January 2010 and that the applicants are Croatian nationals. Apart from purchase and monetary awards, relevant works of art will become part of the T-HT@MSU Collection. The idea behind the awards is to encourage artistic creation in the field of contemporary art in Croatia. The competition will be open until 31 December 2013.
