9.10.2013

Thanks to its long-standing first-class practice in human resources management, providing career development in a motivating international environment, the workers' personal growth and selection of best candidates, Hrvatski Telekom has been awarded the prestigious Employer-Partner Certificate for excellence in human resources management.

At today's Employer-Partner award ceremony, Irena Jolić Šimović, Member of the Management Board of HT and Chief Human Resources Officer, was handed over the award by Aleksandar Zemunić, Member of the Management Board of the Certificate-awarding SELECTIO company.

As one of the Certificate's key conclusions, SELECTIO company pointed out that at Hrvatski Telekom employees were recognized as the Company's biggest asset, therefore commitment to quality management and employee satisfaction were of special importance to the Company. This is primarily demonstrated by inclusion of employees in the Company's strategic goals, as well as by positioning of the human resources function within the company management function. This way, each time a strategic decision is made, attention is paid to how changes will affect employees and what must be done to keep employees content and committed at work, thus enabling them to fully contribute to strategy realization.

Such approach resulted in preparation of a performance management system where where tasks and targets are clearly communicated to the employee, where the employee's engagement and achieved results are monitored and rewards are given in a transparent manner. All employees are included in development activities, and progress is thoroughly monitored. The Company provides funds for employees' formal education such as postgraduate studies and MBA programs as well as participation in numerous workshops, lectures and conferences. An internal HT Academy was established, providing employees with insight into new technologies and models of business operation. Employees are given the option to receive education in one of the numerous international programs within the DT Group and to work in an international environment, in addition to a broad range of business skill trainings. As the Company's operations focus on online operations, intensive development of e-learning content and education is ongoing, which will enable employees to acquire knowledge and skills from various areas in a simple and quick manner, whenever and wherever they find it convenient.

As Hrvatski Telekom has 5000 employees all over Croatia, internal communications processes are key to timely information of employees and to collection of valuable feedback. Therefore, HT has developed a modern Intranet containing all important data needed by employees in their everyday work, from an internal directory to the latest services and e-learning education, where the Company's innovations are presented and where all employees can view user's comments on each topic published on the Intranet. Furthermore, the Company regularly conducts employee satisfaction surveys, presents rewards to and encourages the best employees.

The Company pays much attention to the employees' innovation; more than half of the employees are working on development of new products and services.

„We want to be a place for high achievement and personal development. We are driven by the fact that satisfied employees, the ones with a "spark" in their eye, are crucial to the success of our Company, and this is why we are investing in their education every day, not only in the basic professional part, but also in a much wider scope. All employees believe in our vision of the Company being a leader which powers the online society and digital economy in Croatia and the Region – and this lays the foundations for success. We encourage our employees to be passionate about innovation in all segments of business operation, and we offer work in a stimulating international environment where state-of-the-art technologies are employed.“ said Irena Jolić Šimović, Member of the Management Board of HT and Chief Human Resources Officer while accepting the award, and added: „This award produces proof that we are heading in the right direction. We will continue on the path of investing in employees and of applying best practice in human resources in order to have satisfied employees focused on serving our customers and meeting all their needs.“
