Hrvatski Telekom brings to this year's T-HT conference „growing through Knowledge“ on October 4 Alain de Botton, one of the most renowned European philosophers of the younger generation, the world's bestselling author, visionary and entrepreneur.
De Botton will convey to the guests at the conference his central theses regarding the importance of lifelong learning, achievement of life purpose and achieving excellence. He will clarify the extent to which business can offer a truly fulfilling life, and how to choose a profession that invigorates the spirit. Combining insights from modern psychology, economics, philosophy, sociology and anthropology, he will discuss about the enthusiasm and the challenges that the advanced technology brings, the importance of professional orientation, misconceptions concerning the selection of the right occupation, status anxiety and purposeful motivation of a contemporary employee. He will talk as well about the acquisition of skills necessary for success with growing private and business challenges in order for them to live purposeful, wise and quality life.
Alain de Botton published his first bestseller when he was just 23 years old. Driven by the wisdom of ancient and contemporary philosophers and thinkers, he decided to study the enigmas that occupy the contemporary man: What is happiness? How to choose a job that inspires us? What is social identity? His works have been bestsellers in 30 countries, including Croatia.

The conference is designed as a gift of knowledge to the Croatian society and highlights the value of learning and growth and development of individuals, companies and society as a whole.
The lecture will be followed by a round table where leading experts will discuss the topic: " Does our current education system prepare us best for the challenges of everyday life?".
T-HT conference will be held at Hypo center, Slavonska avenija 6 in Zagreb on Friday, October 4, and will be attended by numerous guests from the economic, intellectual and political life of Croatia.
