Hrvatski Telekom recognized as the most innovative large company in Croatia

4.6.2013

Today, Hrvatski Telekom was recognized as the leader in the field of innovation in the category of large enterprises, according to the results of the national survey of Croatian companies' innovation performance. The survey was conducted by Sense Consulting, business weekly Lider and VERN University of Applied Sciences on the sample of 300 Croatian companies from different industries.

Apart from Hrvatski Telekom, which was ranked the most innovative large company in Croatia, in the category of medium enterprises the award went to Alarm Automatika, the regional market leader in the design and development of comprehensive, innovative and integrated technical protection solutions, and in the category of small enterprises the award went to Genos d.o.o., the first private DNA laboratory in the wider region.

Irena Jolić Šimović, Member of the Management Board and COO of Hrvatski Telekom, was also present at the award presentation ceremony held at VERN University of Applied Sciences and said on this occasion: “Innovation and focus of our employees on use of advanced technologies in everyday life and work represent the basis of our company's success. HT strives to be the best place for high achievements and personal growth and this recognition, as well as the fact that we have been among the most desirable employers for a number of years, clearly demonstrate our efforts and shared vision of all employees. When it comes to realization of innovative projects, the key criterion is that innovations should provide customers with easier access to communication, work and entertainment, at any time and in the easiest way possible. I would like to mention in this context TeraStream network as an example of our innovation on a global scale which is essential for the development and competitive edge of the economy and society of the future.”

The survey of Croatian companies' innovation performance started early 2013 and it included 30 percent companies engaged in production activities and 70 percent companies engaged in service activities. During the survey, small, medium and large enterprises were divided into separate categories so as to establish whether the number of employees and total revenues have impact on company innovations. The survey showed that only 38 percent of the companies put innovations among the three key priorities in their business operations, whereas 43 of the respondents do not see innovations as a business priority. Only 14 percent of the companies use accession and EU funds assistance to enhance their innovation potential.
