Hrvatski Telekom osvojio nagradu HRIO za zaštitu dječjih prava

  • Recognition of systematic efforts to ensure children's safety and protection in the digital environment
  • Collaboration with UNICEF, the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, and schools focused on preventing online risks and advocating responsible use of technology

Hrvatski Telekom was awarded the Croatian Sustainability Index (HRIO) Award in the Children's Rights category. Presented at a sustainable development conference organized by the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development (HR PSOR), the award recognizes HT's systematic efforts to protect children and young people, particularly in the digital environment.

In collaboration with the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Zagreb, HT implements the "Tools for Modern Times" and "Tools for Modern Times - AIMO! Using AI Smartly" programs. These programs help children and young people recognize online risks and develop the skills needed to use digital technologies and artificial intelligence safely and responsibly.

"At Hrvatski Telekom, our responsibility goes beyond connecting people and developing digital infrastructure. We are also committed to creating a safer virtual environment for children. Protecting their rights must keep pace with technological development and be an integral part of business decisions. That is why we invest in education and collaboration with experts, schools and parents, helping children use the benefits of technology safely, recognize risks and know how to protect themselves. This recognition confirms the value of our efforts and commits us to continuing this work," said Nataša Rapaić, President of the Management Board of Hrvatski Telekom.

Protecting children's rights is an integral part of the HT Group Human Rights Code. HT has also signed the Code for the Protection and Promotion of Children's Rights in the Digital Environment, developed in partnership with UNICEF Croatia, which covers online safety, the protection of privacy and personal data, and the development of safe digital services. Through its participation in UNICEF's Advisory Board on Children's Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility, HT works with partners to help create a safer digital environment for children.
