The jury awarding the tportal literary prize roman@tportal.hr chose five novels which will go to the finale of the fifth competition for the best Croatian novel

Out of fifty-two applications received for tportal literary competition for the novel of the year, the jury consisting of seven members chose five novels to compete for the prize worth HRK 100,000.00.
There are two debut novels - 'Drenje' by Luka Bekavac, published by Profile, and the novel 'Ovdje neće biti čuda' by Goran Ferčec (published by Fraktura). Among the finalists is, for the second time, winner of the roman@tportal.hr prize Sibila Petlevski with her novel 'Bilo nam je tako lijepo' (Fraktura) which comes after her novel ‘Vrijeme laži’ and represents the second part of the trilogy announced by the author.
One of the finalists is also Zoran Ferić and his novel 'Kalendar Maja' (published by Profil), recently awarded by the daily Jutarnji list and the Vladimir Nazor prize by the the Ministry of Culture. The fifth shortlisted novel is 'Sanjao sam slonove' (published by Naklada Ljevak) written by Ivica Đikić, a writer and journalist.
This year, the jury is chaired by Ana Grbac, and other members are: Tomislav Brlek, Gordana Duhaček, Igor Mandić, Katarina Luketić, Miroslav Mićanović and Jadranka Pintarić.
The decision on the winner will be known on 28 June, when the roman@tportal.hr prize will be awarded in the Europa cinema in Zagreb.

Let us recall that in 2008 tportal.hr launched the literary prize for the best Croatian novel. The prize has been awarded four times so far.
Last year, the prize won Olja Savičević Ivančević with her novel ‘Adio kauboju’ (published by Algoritam) Olje, in 2009 the prize went to Sibila Petlevski and her novel 'Vrijeme laži' (published by Fraktura). The prize-winning novels before that were 'Tri' by Drago Glamuzina (published by Profil, 2008) and 'Anastazija' by Dalibor Šimpraga (published by Durieux, 2007).
