Rovinj predstavio nagrađivanu Smart City aplikaciju Hrvatskog Telekoma i Combisa

Today, the City of Rovinj-Rovigno presented 'Rovinj-Rovigno Direct', an app that provides a comprehensive digital upgrade to how residents interact with municipal services. Rovinj thus continues to modernize and digitalize city services, making them faster, more efficient, and more accessible. Built on the award-winning OneCityApp solution from Hrvatski Telekom and Combis, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund has co-funded this digital platform.
'Rovinj-Rovigno Direct' app transforms access to city services through three key innovations: a centralized information hub for all city events (from cultural events to public works projects), personalized, location- and interest-based notifications, like updates on waste-collection schedules or road closures), in-app payment of municipal bills, direct chat with city departments, eliminating the need for phone calls or in-person visits. Together, these three elements cancel the need to wait in line and place vital information in one always available location.
"Our city has become even more technologically advanced by implementing and fully activating 'Rovinj-Rovigno Direct'. We have streamlined communication with municipal departments and made it more transparent, faster, and more efficient. This platform puts services at our citizens' fingertips and makes everyday life easier," said Rovinj's Mayor Marko Paliaga, Ph.D.
A helpful feature is the option to pay municipal bills without going to the bank or post office. Instead of storing paper payment slips and waiting in line, residents can now pay all city and kindergarten bills free of charge, with just a few taps on their mobile phones. The system automatically stores all payment confirmations, further simplifying administrative tasks.
"Digitalization is an essential step in building modern urban environments. The innovative OneCityApp solution, developed within the HT Group through the cooperation of Hrvatski Telekom and Combis, enables more efficient resource management, reduces operational costs, and, most importantly, improves citizens' quality of life. Rovinj recognized the benefits of digital transformation and joined other cities that have already implemented our solution. We're proud that more than 35,000 active users now rely on the app, with 91 percent reporting that it provides real value," said Marijana Bačić, Management Board Member of Hrvatski Telekom and Director of Combis.
Split, Otočac, Vodice, and now Rovinj show that digital transformation is a reality in Croatia, not just a promise of the future. Results from other cities confirm the value of this approach. More than 35,000 residents actively use the OneCityApp, with over 33,000 citizen requests successfully resolved and more than 77,000 bills paid via the app, all without transaction service fees. This confirms that OneCityApp is genuinely changing how citizens interact with local governments.
The app can be used in two ways: as the primary communication channel with the city, which requires login via the National e-Citizens System (NIAS) to access full functionality, including bill payment and secure communication with city offices, or as an informational tool for city events, which does not require registration.
'Rovinj-Rovigno Direct' is available for download on Google Play and the App Store, making Rovinj part of the growing network of smart cities using digital tools to create more accessible and transparent local governance in service of their residents.
