Ermin Zec, the player of Šibenik Football Club, was named the player of the year in a poll that tportal.hr conducted among football team captains seventh time in a row. He received the award today in a ceremony held in the headquarters of T-Hrvatski Telekom.
Traditionally, tportal.hr conducted the poll among all team captains of the T-Com First Croatian Football League, and the best player got the highest number of votes. Each captain could chose 5 footballers that he finds performed the best on the pitch in the past year. The first i.e. the best player was given ten points, while the fifth was given two points. After adding the points, Ermin Zec was named the best player of T-Com First CNL, by winning 88 out of possible 160 points.
Before Ermin Zec, the winners of the poll were Mario Mandžukić, Niko Kranjčar, Tomo Erceg, Eduardo Da Silva – who wan the title two years in a row, and Luka Modrić.
The young player of Šibenik who was born in 1988 in Bugojno, Bosnia and Herzegovina, deserved the title of the best player of T-Com First CNL. His team was the biggest surprise of the first part of T-Com First CNL, and he contributed to this by scoring eight goals, by which he drew the attention of many international clubs.
The player of T-Com First CNL award is a continuation of an excellent cooperation between T-Com and the Association of the First CNL through the project called Volim NogomeT (I love FooTball) that supports sports in Croatia and intends to contribute that 'most important leisure activity in the world' becomes a family thing again, and that the football stadiums become again places of gathering and cheering.
tportal.hr also hosts a page dedicated to T-Com First CNL where the fans of Croatian football can find news, statistics and reports from the Croatian football pitches.
