Today, T-Hrvatski Telekom has presented the results of the already traditional grant awarding competition „Together We Are Stronger“. And again, for the fourth successive year, T-HT employees have played a key role in the implementation of the competition by proposing projects from their own environment. This year's competition will support content of humanitarian nature. Out of 178 applications received from all regions of Croatia, 25 projects were selected and granted financial funds in a total amount of HRK 1,133,700.
The competition lasted from 28 April to 23 May 2009, aiming to provide support to well-designed humanitarian projects from all over Croatia which deserve support in their realization. A Committee decided on the granting of financial funds, led by criteria according to which the projects had to be of a long-lasting value, of significance for society and directly or indirectly, involving as many beneficiaries as possible. The wide range of selected content included support to projects related to work with children, elderly people, socially disadvantaged groups and groups of various age structures with special needs, as well as projects of disease prevention and occupational medicine. This year again, T-HT employees have gladly and in large numbers participated in identifying projects and proposing them to the competition.
„It fills us with joy when we are able, as private persons, as individuals, to help those who need it most. When our company is supporting projects found by our employees in their own neighborhood, this will double our joy, and we are proud together . The „Together We Are Stronger“ project shows the willingness of the Company to be socially responsible by investing in humanitarian projects, but it also shows that good results can only be achieved by joint efforts and good communication“, said Ivica Mudrinić, President of the Management Board of T-Hrvatski Telekom.
Financial grants were awarded to eleven associations such as the „Brave Phone“ association from Zagreb, the helpline for abused and neglected children, „MI“ from Požega, the association of parents of children with special needs, for the fitting of the playground of the Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Center for Mentally Retarded and Physically Handicapped Persons, the association of disabled persons „Bubamara“ from Vinkovci for modification of vehicles for the needs of people with walking disabilities or impaired mobility, by fitting of an elevator for disabled persons. Funds were also granted to the Zagreb East Medical Center for the fitting of an elevator for persons with impaired mobility, to the Center for Autism from Split for reconstruction of the kitchen and dining hall, to the Education Center for Visual Arts, Creativity and Design – Studio Tanay from Zagreb, for the project of creative therapeutic work with children with neurodevelopmental and motoric disorders of the Goljak Hospital.
By these grants and humanitarian projects, and with the active participation of its employees, T-Hrvatski Telekom once again showed its status of a socially responsible company.
