T-Hrvatski Telekom, the leading provider of telecom services in Croatia has signed a HRK 90 million contract with ELKA Cables for the supply of optic and copper telecommunications cables. This contract represents a continuation of a long and successful cooperation of the two companies as well as a continuation of T-HT's preference of domestic suppliers.
"With this significant investment, which makes only a part of our total annual investment amounting to between HRK 1,2 and 1,5 billion, T-HT has once again confirmed its commitment to the expansion and modernization of Croatian telecom market, cooperating with domestic companies whenever it is possible. The fixed network is to take a new role and that is broadband access or fast Internet access, so we can offer our customers the best and most innovative services and support the Croatian economy with modern technology." said Ivica Mudrinić, President of T-HT Management Board.
Through the contract with ELKA T-HT has additionally strengthened its position in further development of the telecommunications network for the purpose of faster building and modernization of the access network which will in the future provide significantly increased access speed and broadband service availability to the customers. As already announced, T-HT expects the ADSL customer base to reach the number of 450,000 customers by the end of 2008 while further strong growth of the MAXtv customer base is expected as well.
