T-Hrvatski Telekom has today handed in a donation worth HRK 100,000 to the Special Hospital for Chronic Diseases of Children in Gornja Bistra. The donation was collected by putting the award-winning photographs taken by employees of T-HT Group to an internal auction and partly taken from the company budget. These funds will help the hospital in Gornja Bistra to purchase a new, desperately needed ultra-sound machine.
„This donation of T-HT Group confirmed once again the social responsibility and readiness of the company to provide assistance where it is badly needed. This especially refers to associations and institutions concerned with welfare of children and the young, who we most deeply care about. As one of the leading companies in Croatia, we have the obligation and desire to help and organize valuable actions. This is the only way, by joint actions, solidarity and focus on the welfare of society members, to make progress “, said Nina Bertapelle, Assistant Director of the Corporate Communications Department, when presenting the donation. „Special Hospital for Chronic Diseases of Children in Gornja Bistra is definitely one of the institutions that need our help and support. Funds donated jointly to the Special Hospital in Gornja Bistra by the employees and the company are a valuable contribution to the promotion of care for small patients who are victims to incurable diseases and for whom the hospital staff is trying to improve the quality of life. We want to take part in this kind of help!“
Special Hospital for Chronic Diseases of Children in Gornja Bistra is categorized as a chronic diseases hospital, and they admit children under the age of 18. Currently there are 110 patients treated at the hospital for various diseases: from the central nervous system diseases to glandular imbalance, metabolic and other disturbances, but the limited hospital capacities make the patients wait for months for admission.
„Donation of T-HT Group and its employees will enable a purchase of a new ultra-sound machine that will replace a 15-year old machine and allow the doctors to monitor the health of our little patients in a better way“, said the hospital director on that occasion, Ivan-Željko Weiss MD, a pediatrician, adding that „this hospital takes care of the most vulnerable population, children suffering from chronic diseases, and we are glad that T-HT recognized our need for assistance.“
By such wide participation in this donation project of T-HT Group, T-HT employees have again shown their humanity and interest in social welfare, and, in particular, in help to children and the young. Activities spurring both the company and its employees will certainly be encouraged in future too, illustrating that social responsibility of T-HT, incorporated into the very core of our business, means and includes all segments and players in the company.
