Collecting and disposal of used batteries
In the active care for the environment protection, T-HT launched ecological campaign “Clean communication!” to encourage citizens to collect old batteries and their safe disposal
Containers for disposal of batteries are placed in 45 T-Centers and 5 T-Mobile shops across Croatia, and collection of old batteries will be taken care of by the company registered for the collection of batteries.
T-HT, as leading provider of integrated telecommunications solutions in Croatia, is not among those business persons who have large influence to the natural environment, nevertheless is trying to reduce to the lowest extent disposal of waste generated during the company's work process. Except disposal of old batteries that will within the campaign “Clean communication!” T-HT in the future adequately dispose of old batteries making part of products that help the customers use our services, company a ecological awareness proved for a long time by activities continually undertaken. T-HT has for years been collecting useful waste such as paper, PET packing material e and casetts for toners disposed by the employees into provided containers at their work places. Copper cables, fluorescent pipes, motor oils, oily packing material and other waste materials resulting from daily operations and electronic waste appropriately handled are also collected.
This is, among other activities, the responsibility, of Group for waste management consisting of six employees - two in HQ and one in each Region. They have a help of Residential Sales Department and the colleagues from T-Mobile. In 2005, two years ago, the company adopted Environmental Protection Policy of T-HT Group encompassing all aspects of the environment: waste, soil, energy, raw materials, water, waste water air and exhaustions into air, electromagnetic fields and noise and accessed to the Charter on Sustainable growth pf the European Telecom network operators (ETNO) being the member from its foundation.
Steps that were undertaken prove that T-HT shows the orientation towards responsible management of the natural resources, environment protection and sustainable social and economic growth in its working environment. Recent accession to the UN initiative for responsible business, Global Compact, is yet recognition of our efforts.
