2008 T-HT Conference

The first T-HT Conference was held on October 1, 2008 at the Zagreb Fair. Around 600 participants were addressed by two extraordinary guests - maestro Benjamin Zander, conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and world renowned speaker, and Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, the biggest online encyclopedia, and an Internet entrepreneur.

During his interactive address Benjamin Zander spoke about leadership and stimulating one's own potentials, while Jimmy Wales talked to the President of T-HT Management Board and CEO Ivica Mudrinić, explaining about the origin, importance and today's role of Wikipedia, development of communications technologies and future of the internet.

"When it comes to our, Croatian society, development of new ideas and knowledge as well as innovative solutions, the priority for both political and business sectors lies in dedicated attempts at achieving this goal. By supporting innovations in everyday business and organizing this particular conference T-Hrvatski Telekom wants to contribute to Croatia's path towards the society of knowledge and long-term prosperity," Ivica Mudrinić said in his opening speech.

T-HT organized the first conference to confirm the role and importance of new technologies in the development of the society and improvement of the quality of life. Moreover, the conference was organized to mark the first anniversary of the company's successful IPO. The conference was attended by various persons from Croatia's business, political and intellectual communities, some of the best students from the colleges T-HT has been cooperating successfully for a number of years, and T-HT management.
