Over 3.1 million HRK Collected for Firemen Casualties by Citizens’ Calls

President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of T-HT, Mr. Ivica Mudrinić, handed in today a 2,557,945.00 HRK donation to the secretary of the Fire Association of Šibenik-Knin County, Mr. Jordan Žaja, to help families of firemen who lost their lives on Kornati islands. It is a matter of resources collected by citizens’ calls to the charitable number 060 9009 opened by T-HT. In the period from 3 September until 3 October, the charitable number for resources was called by citizens 511,589 times in total. The price of one call amounted to 6.10 HRK inclusive of VAT. As well as other operators, T-HT renounced the entire income.

-«This tragic event has left an indelible imprint on lives of families of perished firemen, but on our lives too. Unfortunately, the situation created the need and it was necessary to react quickly. As one of the leading Croatian companies, T-Hrvatski Telekom felt obliged to help the families of firemen perished in extinguishing the fire on Kornati, so we opened a charitable phone line immediately. Herewith, I use the opportunity to thank all of them who were involved in this drive, especially to citizens who were calling number 060 9009», stressed Mr. Ivica Mudrinić, President of the Management Board of T-HT on the occasion of the donation delivery.

«In distress we were faced with, I wish to point out how much we appreciated the help provided by the initiated charitable drive. In particular, I thank to all of the citizens who made this drive so successful by their calls and who thus showed that they are with us in these difficult moments», stated Mr Jordan Žaja, secretary of the Fire Association of Šibenik-Knin County.

District-prefect of Šibenik-Knin County and President of the Commission for Distribution of Resources Collected to Help the Families of Firemen, Mr. Goran Pauk said: «The perishing of Šibenik firemen is an unprecedented tragedy for Croatian fire-fighting, Šibenik-Knin County and the entire homeland of ours, Croatia, and particularly for their families. Our perished firemen have left a deep imprint on all of our lives and it will be hard to make up for emptiness they left in the lives of their families and in our lives.»

Exceptional success in collecting resources by calling the opened telephone number was substantially contributed by drives of Humane Stars of Split and Cor Unum associations and initiators and organizers of the Brave Men concert, the Cro Music Media agency with co-organizers of Agrokor and HRT. By phone calls during the charitable Brave Men concert there were collected 711,192 HRK of the total amount inclusive of VAT, and by phone calls during the drive called Humane Stars of Split there were collected 296,387 HRK.
Let us remind you that the Government of the Republic of Croatia renounced the VAT to resources collected by calling the number 060 9009, which helped collect 3,120,693.00 HRK in total.
