Irena Jolić Šimović included in the list of Young Global Leaders
World Economic Forum has honored Ms Irena Jolić Šimović, Member of the Management Board of T-HT and COO Business, with a special recognition by including her in the list of Young Global Leaders 2010. As a 2010 honoree Ms Jolić Šimović will become a member of the Forum of Young Global Leaders that currently comprises 660 outstanding individuals throughout the world who join their knowledge and energy to shape a better future.
This independent international organization selects young leaders from various areas - business, government, science, media, non-profit organizations, art, culture etc. They are distinguished by their professional accomplishments, outstanding leadership and commitment to the society.
The fact that the work of Irena Jolić Šimović has been recognized and that she has been included in Young Global Leaders is a great personal accomplishment for Ms Jolić Šimović and an excellent news for T-Hrvatski Telekom and we are pleased to have an expert whose contribution has been recognized on a global level.

The Young Global Leaders 2010 have been chosen by the selection committee comprised of eminent international media leaders and chaired by the Queen of Jordan Rania Al Abdullah. Drawn from a pool of almost 5.000 candidates from 72 countries, 197 leaders have been selected, 46 of which from Europe, with Irena Jolić Šimović as the only young leader that has ever been selected from Croatia.
Young leaders – future drive
The Young Global Leaders 2010 reflect regional and stakeholder diversity. The YGLs nominated from Europe represent 20 countries and a diverse spectrum of professional backgrounds. They include Roger Federer, professional tennis player (from Switzerland); Nathalie van Ypersele, editor-in-chief, Trends-Tendances (from Belgium); Mikkel Vestergaard Frandsen, CEO, Vestergaard Frandsen (from Denmark); Stella McCartney, fashion designer (from the United Kingdom); Philipp Rösler, Federal Minister of Health and Social Security (from Germany) and Tamas Landesz, special adviser, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (from Hungary), among others.
This year the summit of Young Global Leaders will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 2-7 May. These events enable YGLs to build a strong and diverse community for a better understanding of global and regional agendas and then to engage in initiatives and addressing of specific challenges of public interest.
Klaus Schwab, the founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, defined the mission of this group perfectly: "The Forum is a true multistakeholder community of global decision-makers in which the Young Global Leaders represent the voice for the future and the hopes of the next generation. The diversity of the YGL community and its commitment to shaping a better future through action-oriented initiatives of public interest is even more important at a time when the world is in need of new energy to solve intractable challenges".
