2008 Golden Share Award goes to T-HT

At the 12th presentation of the Golden Share and Golden Interest (for best investment funds) Awards, held on 21 September, organized by the HRT show „Poslovni klub“ (Business Club), the business weekly „Lider“, the Zagreb Stock Exchange and the company „Kapital klub“, T-Hrvatski Telekom received the most prestigious commendation: the Golden Share Award for the most successful share in the Croatian capital market in 2008, as well as the award for the best industrial share in the sector of transport, telecommunications and construction.

By this event, the media aim to contribute to the development of the capital market in Croatia and to honor stock companies and investment funds which, in the course of the previous year, have achieved the best results on Croatian and regional capital markets.

At the beginning of the award ceremony – held at Hypo Center Zagreb and attended by high-ranking officials of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, top managers of  leading Croatian companies, banks, investment and retirement funds, brokerage houses and other capital market players, as well as by representatives of the media – welcoming speeches were delivered by Mr. Miodrag Šajatovic, Chief Editor of Lider, and Mr. Roberto Motušic, President of the Management Board of the Zagreb Stock Exchange. This time, a total of 70 companies listed in the ZSE were nominated for main and special awards.

The 2008 Golden Share Award and Best Industrial Share in the sector of transport, telecommunications and construction, presented to T-HT by Ms Jadranka Kosor, Croatian Prime Minister and Mr. Davorin Mlakar, Minister of Public Administration, were accepted on behalf of the Company by Ms Erika Kašpar, Operating Director of the Corporate Communications and Shareholder Relations Sector.

Accepting the Golden Share Award, she stated: 2008 was undoubtedly a tough year for capital market players, all over the world as well as in Croatia. However, even under these circumstances, at the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the HT share was top-ranking in many respects: the share with the best dividend income, best turnover, best market capitalization, and the share with the largest number of shareholders – currently, we have more than 260.000 of them.

Many factors have had an influence the success of our share; however, the investors' confidence is always the most important one. Therefore we would like to thank our shareholders for their confidence, as this very confidence has brought about this Golden Share Award as well.“
