Combis Conference is thematically divided into areas: Combis Solutions, Connected Future, It's All About Technology, Security and Redefined Workplace, with the aim to show the best of what technology can provide for business.
Second day of the 11th Combis Conference, which is being held in Šibenik and has gathered a record number of participants, was dedicated to case studies of advanced IT projects. "We have shown examples of Combis' successful implementations, have spoken about current technological trends and presented unique competences which are the foundation of future successful projects. We've divided this year's agenda into five theme areas: Combis Solutions, Connected Future, It's All About Technology, Security and Redefined Workplace, all to demonstrate to the public the best of what technology can provide for business", commented Mario Špundak, this year's Combis Conference content director.
During their stay in Croatia, tourists leave a large number of digital prints. From the transactions they've made with their credit card in stores, to the comments and/or geo-tagging on some famous square. Connecting these trails in a meaningful whole, gives a complete picture that can be used for personalizing and addressing specific tourist's needs in real time. "If you know your guests, you can create personalized offers, you have easier upsell/cross-sell because of understanding the tourist's needs better and you create a more satisfied and more loyal user. So far, we could show the reports that contained aggregate demographic characteristics at a certain macro-location, and from recently, we have access to data on micro-location which enables extreme accuracy of the reports and offers far more data", pointed out Mario Marić, Combis' BDM for Big Data technologies, at the presentation "Can digital tracking bring money?".
Together with a colleague from Hrvatski Telekom, Marić explained to the public everything that can be found out by reading tourist digital trails. "Apart from tourism, digital prints can also be applied in retail and financial industry, and I am pleased that I can point out that only Combis and Hrvatski Telekom are able to offer this kind of digital preview to users", said Vedran Pustišek, ICT product developer in Hrvatski Telekom.
It's All About Technology
"The adjustment of network and security application settings was, in many companies, a task that could have lasted for days, or even weeks. Appropriate implementation of Cisco ACI technology, according to each company needs, automates management within the data center, in which the adjustment of network and security application settings is realized in minutes. In addition, you have insight into application's health, regardless of whether it's a virtual or physical environment", said Domagoj Pehar, Technical Director of IP Communications in Combis.
With colleague Mate Grbavac and in collaboration with Marko Galetić from INA – Plavi tim, at the presentation "Case Study: Migration to SDDC (Software Defined Data Center)", Pehar described to the Conference participants all the challenges of data center migration and explained how, by using Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) technology, Combis and INA team established a modern, secure and highly available 40 G active-active SDDC.
"IT infrastructure is the key to success of every modern organization. Nowadays, when business demands are changing very quickly and budget decreases, it is necessary to adjust the IT system. But, the traditional model of data center infrastructure can no longer give a quality response to the challenges of this modern era. What's important to the end user is that the IT system works, that it is adjustable and easy to manage, regardless of the technology", commented Dominik Šarić, product manager at Data Center solutions Department in Combis.
At the presentation "Imagine IT infrastructure of the future", Šarić, together with Combis colleagues Slobodan Kožul and Mate Grbavac, presented current software-defined technologies, as well as the trends that will prevail in data centers of the future. Through examples, lecturers have demonstrated that only a dynamic and flexible IT infrastructure can support business development of the company.
